A Less than Formal Introduction to Authorship

Stacks of notebooks cover the worn wooden table. Some leather bound, others with the cover falling off its rings. One is a small black moleskine with rounded corners. Another is bound in a subtle mix of gold glitter on cork. The largest sits proudly in a hard covered jacket. Two of the most prominent books are filled. Every last page contains words or pictures, but mostly just words; sentence after sentence and line after line after scribble after notes to self; things to remember and things to never forget; instructions and diagrams and emotions. These pages are safe.

Now, at last it is time to remove the safety net and share with an audience. The blog has sat inactive for months. The pageviews are an illusion, mostly numbers recorded from my own IP address as I view the layout of my blog from the would-be reader's point of view. The first post is intimidating, like making the decision to lose one's virginity. It had hung in the back of my mind unspoken for some time, a certain fear of inadequacy I couldn't quite remove myself from. Yet something has changed in me. A deep, inert peace radiates from my centre outward; it is confidence to the nth degree.

The work you will find here is neither fiction, nor fact. It is the essence of both. From memories and moments with but a sprinkle of idyllic fantasy to philosophical ideology and scientific theory, this work is an excerpt of one life lived as experienced through eyes blue and told through the writer's pen. Each post will be supplemented with extra media. I do hope you enjoy your time here and thank you for visiting.
